That can be hard because one requirement of eligibility for Medicaid is residence in the state. You will have to do a whole new application for your mother after she moves to Indiana. In addition, no Indiana nursing home is likely to accept your mother with a Medicaid application pending unless there’s some assurance of payment. If you could pay for your mother’s care for a few months in the Indiana facility, that would help the process along.
